Meet Amelia, a lively 7-year-old with a big passion for singing! Amelia has been a member of the South Shore Children's Chorus (SSCC) for one year, and her journey has been filled with friendships, music, and memorable experiences. When asked why she joined SSCC, she said it was simply because she wanted to sing with others, showing her enthusiasm for being part of a musical community.

One of her favorite songs that she’s performed with the chorus so far is Shallow Bay. The song features a banana, which reminds Amelia of her love for monkeys—especially one very special monkey she calls "Monkey." For Amelia, this song isn’t just about the music; it connects her to the things she loves, adding a playful and personal twist to her singing experience.

Reflecting on her time in the chorus, Amelia shares that some of her favorite memories are from rehearsals and concerts. She enjoys spending time with her friend Madeline, who she also sees at gymnastics before their rehearsals. Her admiration for Miss Kelly, one of the chorus instructors, shines through, especially since Miss Kelly often uses puppets during practice, which Amelia finds delightful.

Being a part of SSCC has helped Amelia grow both as a singer and as a person. She’s learned how to sing in harmony with others, rather than oversinging, and cherishes the friendships she’s made along the way. Amelia even says she’d love to help any new members find their way in the chorus, expressing that if anyone wants to be her friend, she’d gladly help them learn to sing! Her welcoming spirit makes her a treasured member of SSCC, and she hopes to inspire others to join, knowing how fun and rewarding the experience can be.
